Windows installer con Norton Internet security 2006

Ho installato Norton Internet Security 2006 su mio PC (MS windows XP home 5.1) dopo aver disinstallato il precedente Norton antivirus 2004 con Norton removal tool.
Tutto funziona tranne il seguente problema: ad ogni start-up del PC ed a ogni avvio di Outlok e di Office, compare messaggio "windows installer....." seguito da "Norton AV 2006 does not support the repair feature; please uninstall and reinstall". Ho disinstallato e reinstallato Norton senza successo e ogni qualvolta devo cancellare il messaggio per poter proseguire....cosa devo fare? potete aiutarmi?

dovresti usare l'utility msi clean up scaricabile al sito http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us
e rimuovere i vari msi relativi a norton.

Grazie! Ho scaricato l'utility ma ho un dubbio: quando si apre la finestra dell'exe, una volta selezionati i programmi Norton devo cliccare su REMOVE ?

si al imite poi reinstalli l'applicazione.

riporto quì le istruzioni tratte dall'articolo:

There are four buttons in the dialog box:

Button name Purpose
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Select All Selects all the programs in the list.

Clear All Clears the selection of all the programs in the list.

Remove Removes the Windows Installer registry settings that are
associated with the selected program or programs.

Exit Quits the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility.

If you click Remove, the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility displays the
following prompt:

Warning - All items selected will be removed from the Windows Installer
database. In order for the items to work properly, you must individually
re-install all items selected. Select OK to continue removing product,
Cancel to abort.

If you click OK, the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility removes all the Windows
Installer information that is associated with the selected programs, including
the entries for the programs in the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.
If you remove the settings for a program that is currently installed on your
computer, the program can no longer add or remove components or repair itself.
To prevent problems, Microsoft recommends that you reinstall your programs before
you use them.
